Duck Dynasty. I have no idea what it is, but everyone is talking about it on facebook. I don't watch much TV as a college student. More movies. If I do feel like sitting on the couch and watching something on the tele, I usually hope Big Bang Theory to be on. Mostly, like everyone else I suppose, I just like to watch Sheldon. And I always like the feeling when they talk about scientific things and I understand what they are saying. Sheldon's Halloween costume, the Doppler effect, really loved that one.
Here is something I recently stumbled upon on pinterest. Unfortunately, pinterest won't take me to the original site. Bummer.
I LOVE it! Who wouldn't want a chandelier in their laundry room? I once heard a woman say she wanted a chandelier in every room in her home, and after thinking about it, I quite agree. Wouldn't that just be the cutest thing ever, to have a chandelier in a little girl's bedroom? Or even maybe a little manly one for a little boy? I love it. Juline thinks it's dysfunctional, because you would have to clean it and no one would ever see, but I think it's a lovely thought.
Next week...Puppies!

Barb
What a crazy/wonderful week it has been! Lots of bad news and lots of good things have come my way. The best was that on Friday, I got to go to the temple for the first time and receive my endowments. I went to the Mt. Timpanogos temple. Isn't it beautiful? Of course, it wasn't so green and colorful when we went, since it was the middle of February, but beautiful nonetheless.
Ashley returned to Provo with Juline and I and we had a lovely time doing nothing really. Here we are with friends at Slab (which I love) for lunch on Saturday. Back, left to right: Juline, Courtney, Me Front: Carly, Ashley. Unfortunately we didn't get a picture with the whole lunch group (Brinn took this picture.)
We introduced Ashley to a movie Juline and I recently discovered called "What's Up, Doc?" Made in 1972, it stars Barbara Streisand and Ryan O'Neal (who is not so attractive now as the father of the lead in Bones but my goodness, he was extremely good looking when he was young.) I like this movie very well.
The same night we watched What's Up, Doc? for the first time, we also watched Funny Girl. (It was a Friday night and we weren't tired.) It was suggested to me by a friend a long time ago and Amazon Prime reminded me of it. This movie was done really well, but was quite sad. It was produced in 1968. It also stars Barbara Streisand, along with Omar Sharif, who plays a dreamy French man. He is quite charming. The movie was based on a play which was based on a book. As I mentioned, it is a bit depressing, but it has some great music. This song has been stuck in my head for 2 weeks now.

Here it is with the scene from the movie although the recording isn't perfect.
I would recommend both. Either is good, depending on your mood. If you want a light-hearted romantic comedy, What's Up, Doc? And for a more melancholy film, Funny Girl is where it's at. You can hardly go wrong with Barbara. As my grandpa would say, "I sure like her voice, but I don't care for her politics."

P.S. I'm listening to the Ingrid Michaelson Pandora station. Best, light-hearted Love station. Ever.

Fighting! 한국
I just witnessed a guy pounding a vending machine in the JKB, shaking it with all his might, trying to get the bag of chips he had just paid for down from the dispenser. He walked away defeated, and probably more hungry than he was before. Not even two minutes later, a guy accompanied by a girl put money in the vending machine next to the former, "asked" for a beagle and got two. Life can be so unjust.
Last Friday night was the most exciting Friday night that I've had... maybe ever. I received my mission call! It was a surprise for many, including myself. For a very long time I was decided on not serving a mission, but sometimes, the Lord changes our minds and desires.
Friday night I had a date scheduled with quite and attractive fellow, with whom I had to cancel my last date with for a trip to Idaho for my brother's open house. Most calls take maybe two weeks to be put through and come on a Wednesday, or so I thought. No big white envelope arrived at my home in Pocatello on Wednesday, just a week and a half after submitting my papers, so I felt safe in accepting a date Friday night. If it came Thursday, there would be enough time to figure out when I would meet with my family to open my call. Nothing on Thursday. So, I was sure it would come the following week and I would be able to enjoy the volleyball game Friday (BYU has a SOLID team.) I had one class on Friday, the sun was shinning, and I had a date that evening. I didn't really think it could be better. Then, around 4:00 p.m. as I was prepping myself for the evening's activities, I got a call from my younger sister. She informed me that my had come! To my home, in Idaho! I just broke down. I thought if I changed my mind about serving before opening my call, it would be a little more legitimate. I composed myself and starting making plans to open my call, along with my younger sister Cindi, who's call had come as well.
It seemed that meeting that night in Pocatello was the best option for meeting and opening our letters together. So, with a somewhat heavy heart and scattered mind, I stopped at the said boy's apartment 45 minutes before he was supposed to pick me up. I informed him that I had submitted my mission papers and that my call had come and that I wouldn't be able to go out with him that night. He was kind and understanding. From there, Juline and I raced home to Idaho. The three hour drive felt more like five, but we finally arrived. Immediately upon entering our home, Skype was pulled up on multiple devices, face time calls were made, and cellphones were placed on speakerphone so that the whole family across States could be there for the unveiling. I was convinced I was going state-side and that Cindi would use her Spanish skills in a foreign land. Knowing mine would be less exciting, and being the older sister, I opened mine first. I carefully cut the envelope and pulled out the papers...backwards. When I finally got them in the right order, I began; "Dear Sister Wadsworth: You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the [weak voiced] Korea Busan Mission." The mission just southeast of Juline's! Excitement filled the room! Juline was jumping, I was smiling, and Cindi was crying. She hugged me then said, "I knew I should have opened mine first." After we settled down a bit, I handed the pocket knife to Cindi who the proceeded to open her call. She started strong, but her voice became softer, and the words "Korea Daejeon Mission" were barely audible. After I realized what she said, I jumped with a scream and the two of us embraced, our hearts full of love, excitement, and a tiny bit (ok, maybe a lot of bit) of nervousness.
I am anxious, but more excited. Juline teaches Korean at the MTC and Cindi and I are getting a head start on the language.
I love this Gospel and believe in it with all my heart. I am looking forward to sharing the truth with Heavenly Father's children in Korea: I am excited to share the hope and knowledge that I have been so blessed with. ^^
